On 5 June 2025, Lions Prostate Cancer Research & Treatment, made a $160,000 donation to the Mater Foundation to support prostate cancer research. Funds were used to purchase equipment & consumables for enhanced prostate cancer research at Mater Research. This includes supporting the purchase of advanced equipment, such as an ultrasound system, that will improve biopsy accuracy and treatment outcomes.
Lions Clubs of Australia have been a long-term partner with Mater Foundation/Research since 2004, with our focus being purchase of equipment for Prostate Cancer Research.

Lions Clubs throughout Australia donate to purchase equipment towards research for a cure for Prostate Cancer
We would like to thank all Lions Clubs for their ongoing support over a 20 years+ period. Some clubs in smaller communities, have limited fundraising capabilities and other clubs have greater resources, in all cases we appreciate the level of commitment and support from all Lions Clubs Australia wide.
