I’m a Mater community champion and I’m raising much need funds for a cause close to my heart.
A member of Lions Clubs Australia, with a diagnoses of Prostate Cancer back in 2015 and still undergoing treatment, I am a Supporter of the Lions Prostate Cancer Research & Treatment Project.
This 🦁project has been supporting the work of Professor John Hooper and his team at the Mater Foundation since 2004 with their research into and treatment for prostate cancer. During 2024-25 the Project donated $385,000 raised from Lions Clubs around Australia to the Mater Foundation for its research into prostate cancer an treatment for prostate cancer.

I am now using the Chops I grew for an Australian Lions Childhood Cancer Research Foundation fund raiser to help raise additional funds for the work of the Mater Foundation in this field.
To help raise awareness of the work of this Lions Project and the Mater Foundation, rather than shave the chops off at an event, I now plan to colour my chops BLUE at the Lions District 201Q3 Convention in Toowoomba from 3rd to 5th October 2025.
Will you support me by making a donation or joining the my team with your own chops or beard to help us support this important cause.
I am also dedicating this fundraiser to my friend and former Lion The Hon Mark McArdle MP and other Lions and their families who have gone onto higher service as well as those like me who are still dealing with their diagnose and treatment.
